    My 6-month-old son

Published: Jun 6, 2012 · Modified: Nov 28, 2012 by Coleen · This post may contain affiliate links.

Sorry for the lack of food this past week or so. I just got over a particularly sneaky stomach bug (I would feel better, eat some food, then get sick again), just in time for The Mister to start feeling sick himself. So, we haven't been doing much cooking.

So for now, let me wonder out loud who this 6-month-old baby is, and where my newborn boy went. Yes, BabyL recently turned six months old. I try not to post too much about my personal life, but BabyL has been pretty much my whole life, so it's hard not to mention him.

    L. was born in late November, two weeks before his due date. He was very impatient in making his debut, arriving just 6 hours after my first labor contraction, weighing in at 5 lbs 15.9 ounces and 19.25 inches long.

Since then, he has smiled at us, giggled at us, outright laughed at us, rolled from back-to-belly and back to his belly again, babbled at us, blown bubbles at us, found his hands, and found his feet. At his most recent well-baby checkup, his nurse christened him "Kicks," because his legs are kicking nonstop (which isn't much different from his actions in utero!). She foresees him becoming a swimmer or a runner!

Now at six months, he weighs in at 17 lbs 11 ounces and measures 27.5 inches long!

In addition to his milk, he recently started eating solids (more on that on Friday). It's only a matter of time until he's crawling. He pulls up onto his knees and onto his hands -- just not at the same time.

    L. smiles when I go into his nursery to get him up for the day. The Mister gets a big smile when he comes home from work. And the dogs get HUGE grins whenever they come into L.'s line of vision. Hmmmph.

I can't believe how fast time has flown by, and how much L has grown and learned. I can't wait to see what he does next.

Thank you! The Mister is better (at least, he went to work today), and now the baby has a fever (but doesn't seem to be feeling too poorly).
